Citizen science is an inclusive and open approach that engages the public in scientific research.
Key characteristics include: (1) active involvement of citizens in research; and (2) a genuine scientific outcome, such as new knowledge, conservation actions, or policy changes.

How to apply
Applications are open to high school students (16 years and older, attending the last two years of high school), teachers from across Europe and university students from European universities. Each applicant should complete an application form in which they should specify their name, city and country of residence, school or university, and possible preference on one of the School’s projects. For high school students, the form should be submitted by a professor supporting their students’ candidacy.
Since by its nature citizen science is open to all citizens, applicants are not required to have any special skills, only an interest in getting involved and working on the School’s projects. For the same reason, the selection process will be random, although it will pay attention to gender equality and geographical distribution of participants.
Deadline for applications is January 12th. Applications which should reach us after this date will not be taken into consideration.
