Frontiers of the Quantum Universe: Experiments Searching for New Physics and Applications
Step into the world where big questions meet real‑world breakthroughs! Modern physics reveals an extraordinary picture of nature—from quantum particles to the evolution of the Universe—yet some of its deepest mysteries remain unsolved. This year’s School explores how curiosity‑driven research and practical innovation come together as students investigate dark matter, matter–antimatter asymmetry, and the limits of quantum theory. From particle accelerators and exotic atoms to spacetime curvature and precision detectors, participants participants will discover how fundamental laws of physics are tested in the laboratory and travel across today’s scientific frontiers. Through lectures, interactive discussions and hands-on research activities, students will learn how scientists design experiments, analyse data and interpret results. By working alongside researchers, they will experience the excitement and the tantalizing challenge of pushing the boundaries of human knowledge.
The school program will be based on lectures, debates and experimental working groups guided by passionate and competent researchers, which will allow to experience the world of physics research firsthand. Students will be involved for a total of about 40 hours over the week.
SCHOOL PROGRAM
The Frascati edition of INSPYRE 2025 will be held at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (LNF) in Frascati, a small town near Rome (Italy).
How to reach the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (LNF)
As for nearby accommodation solutions, LNF has an account with “Hotel Villa Mercede”: the cost for students is 75 euros + 2 euros of tourist tax per person per night in multiple room, breakfast and shuttle service (hotel-LNF-hotel) included. The cost for single rooms, whose availability must be assessed at the time of booking, is 115 euros + 2 euros of tourist tax per person per night, breakfast and shuttle service (hotel-LNF-hotel) included.
Students will provide for the payment of travel expenses, accommodation and dinners.
Lunches and the social dinner are covered by LNF.
