INSPYRE 2026

INSPYRE 2026 will have two editions: one will be held at Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (LNF) in April 2026 and one at Laboratori Nazionali del Sud (LNS) in November. The two schools will have different program and speakers, but both will focus on modern physics and INFN research through lectures, discussions with researchers, interactive activities and experiments. The application period of the two schools will be different (see below) and students may participate in only one edition.

INSPYRE School can be attended by Italian and foreign high school students who are 16 years of age or older and in their final two years. The School of the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud will accommodate 30 students.

The Application for the School of the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud will open on June 20, 2026.

Applications should be submitted through a specific form, in which candidates should indicate the edition of their interest. Only one application per applicant can be submitted. Any duplicate applications will be discarded.

Applications must be submitted by a professor/school director supporting their students’ candidacy by filling out an appropriate form for each student.

The form will require two documents to be attached:

  • A motivation letter (max 1 page) written in English by candidate themselves describing the reasons for wanting to attend INSPYRE school
  • A recommendation letter (max 1 page) written in English or Italian by a teacher or the school director, describing the reasons why the candidate is worthy of participating in the school

Applications which contain documents longer than one page will not be taken into consideration. The selection will pay attention to gender equality and the geographical distribution of participants.

Possession of an English language certification B2 or equivalent, although not mandatory, is highly recommended.

Deadline for applications for the School of the Laboratori Nazionali del Sud is September 20th, 2026.

Candidates will be informed of the acceptance/reject of their application in the first half of October 2026.
